Sizing by how you stack
Count the bales you want under cover, then measure one bale and how high you stack. Multiply out the footprint and leave aisle room for the tractor and loader. It is usually cheaper to size for next year's hay now than to add on later.
Airflow and moisture

- Overhangs help keep blowing rain off the stack edges.
- A raised, well-drained pad keeps the bottom row off wet ground.
