What a lean-to is for

A lean-to is a roof that runs off the side of a building, open or enclosed. It is a simple way to cover a trailer, boat, mower, firewood or a work area without a second building.

Things we check

  • The existing building. Its wall height and frame decide how a lean-to can attach and how much roof slope you get.
  • Height under the low side. Make sure what you park fits at the lowest point.
  • Drainage. Water off both roofs has to go somewhere away from the slab.

New building or existing one
